The Audubon Shop, 907 Boston Post Rd. in Madison, begins its thirty-first Annual Spring Bird Walks at Hammonasset Beach State Park on Sat April 15th, and runs them every Saturday through June 10th from 8-10:30 a.m. This is a great opportunity to start your weekend off right, get outdoors and see migratory shorebirds, songbirds, and birds of prey that appear at Hammonasset. Experienced leader Jerry Connolly has a great ear for spring bird calls, and will share his expertise for sighting! Hammonassett Beach State Park in Madison, is widely regarded as the premier birding area in Connecticut. Approximately 240 species of birds occur there annually, in its diverse habitats of marsh, open water, woodland, grassland and shoreline. Beginners are welcome. *No need to pre-register.
