To celebrate Sunday's Oscar ceremony, here are great songs written expressly for the Hollywood versions of Broadway classics, from the films of The Sound of Music, On The Town, Nine, and more. This Sunday at 3PM, live or streaming.

With the success of the revival of Sunset Blvd., we look at the five-decade career of Lord Lloyd Webber, with songs performed by Glenn Close, Patti LuPone, Barbra Streisand, Donny Osmond, and more.

Who needs an enormous staircase replete with an enormous chandelier? Well certainly not Glenn Close who has once again achieved the pinnacle of musical dominance in the revival of Sunset Boulevard which opened Thursday night at the Palace Theater on Broadway. She blew us away some 23 years ago in the role of Norma Desmond and she wows us once again in one of my favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber shows. Incidentally he now has 4 shows running at once on Broadway but Sunset, in my mind, is right now the best of the foursome.

The 1940s ushered a decade of persuasive and persistent women onto the American musical stage. They're all here: Ethel Merman, Mary Martin, Nancy Walker, Gertrude Lawrence, and more. This Sunday at 3PM, live or streaming.

“Cardinal" by Pinegrove is this week's featured album on the Afternoon Ramble. Click here to listen to the song “Old Friends" from their record, and tune into AR Monday through Friday from 1 - 5 pm to hear more.
