Brian Cosgrove

Host of The Afternoon Ramble

Brian is a native Long Islander, originally from Massapequa, and lived mainly on and around the Nassau/Suffolk line on the south shore till the mid 90’s. He briefly lived in Saranac Lake N.Y. and in ’97 moved to Springs in East Hampton. He started with radio at Nassau Community College and Adelphi University, they shared the 90.3 frequency and had shows at both campus studios. His first commercial radio job was at WDRE/WLIR in Garden City. It was a real thrill for him to work at WLIR because in the 70’s and early 80’s it was his favorite radio station. In ‘97 he started at WEHM in East Hampton and hosted the morning show and went on to be the Program Director. He left there in 2007 to come to 88.3 WPPB and could not be happier being part of Long Island’s only NPR affiliate. “I feel very fortunate to live on the East End and to be part of this local, community minded public radio station”.
