On Friday evening St. Patrick's Day the WPPB Hosts, Staff and Supporters all gathered together to support Long Island's Only NPR Station during a live broadcast of Friday Night Soul. Hosted by Ed German. The station was live fundraising during the event and it was a unique opportunity for listeners to see the behind the scenes activities at the station. All of the local WPPB hosts were in attendance including: Bonnie Grice, Ed German, Brian Cosgrove and Michael Mackey. Wally Smith made remarks about the importance of public radio.
Friends, today is the last day of our On Air Fund Drive and we ask you to consider the importance of this Long Island’s Only NPR Station. My staff and I work tirelessly each day to provide you with high quality local and NPR programming that makes a difference. As you know many Federal programs that support the arts and culture are under fire and I am asking you all to take this into consideration when making your donation this year. It is more important now than ever that we keep this local NPR station local.
Join us today on the 5th day of the WPPB On Air Fund Drive.
